Centered around Nathan's wildly funky saxophone, the album features a grooving bass that makes the subtitle "Introducing Abraham Laboriel" quite fitting, and a rhythm section that incorporates Brazilian and Afrobeat techniques, as expected from a production by Nathan Davis, who holds a doctorate in ethnic music, all perfectly layered to create a fantastic groove. The album kicks off with "Stick Buddy," a lighthearted beat inviting dance, enhanced by the soothing sound of a flute. The third track, titled after the Brazilian state of "Bahia," is a Brazilian number characterized by its literally exhilarating rhythm. Track 4, "African Boogie," features a fast-paced, undulating bass, relentless drumming, and a tenor saxophone that soars high and punkishly, using them as a springboard.
