Formed in 1999 by six art students in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, Pia Fraus has supported the Eastern European shoegaze scene for over 20 years. They have previously released albums on America's top shoegaze label, Shelflife Records, and even performed in Japan in 2019, earning the trust of shoegaze/dream pop listeners around the world. The long-awaited seventh album, "Evening Colours," is centered around Pia Fraus' signature comfortable, dreamy sound and roaring shoegaze, but is also colorfully infused with new elements through synths and chorus work. The album starts with "French Exit," where a comfortable time flows along with soft, dreamy roars, and in the third track, the title track "Evening Colours," Pia Fraus's signature smooth vocals melt into a dreamy soundscape, instantly drawing you into a dream world. The retro synth sound, which is also key in the fourth track, "Sunny Afternoon," is a new feature of this work, and it has the effect of warping the image to another space within the shoegaze-dream pop genre.
