Contents: The legendary hip-hop group Main Source, comprised of Large Professor, K-Cut, and Sir Scratch, has finally received a miraculous official release of their long-unreleased album, "The Science," after more than 30 years! This release includes previously unreleased tracks, a historical discovery! Main Source, comprised of Large Professor, K-Cut, and Sir Scratch, debuted in 1991 with their critically acclaimed debut album, "Breaking Atoms," on the prestigious Wild Pitch label. The following year, 1992, they released "Fakin' The Funk" from the "White Men Can't Jump" soundtrack spin-off, "White Men Can't Rap," and "Bonafide Funk," a guest appearance on a Brand New Heavies track, setting the stage for their second album, "The Science." While publications like THE SOURCE were announcing the release of "The Science," main rapper Large Professor left the group. With Mikey D joining as the new rapper, "The Science" was completely shelved. (The song "How My Man Went Down In The Game" from that period was included on the 1993 compilation "Wild Pitch Classics.") This legendary second album, "The Science," produced by Main Source during Large Professor's time with the group, is an extremely rare find among the many shelved works that emerged during the hip-hop bubble of the 1990s. It is talked about as one of the greatest treasures of 90s hip-hop's unreleased albums, and although fragments of it have been released in very small quantities on vinyl and bootlegs, there are many fans around the world who have been waiting for an official release of the complete album. And now, in 2023, more than 30 years after the initial announcement of its release, it has finally received a miraculous official release! This album includes classic tracks produced and released after "Breaking Atoms," such as "Fakin' The Funk" and "How My Man Went Down In The Game," as well as tracks familiar to core fans like "Time," "Hellavision," "Raise Up," and "Bootlegging." And! It also includes the completely unreleased "Fakin' The Funk [Unreleased]" (a version using the famous sample source ESG "UFO" that every hip-hop fan knows!) and a collection of dope interludes! This is a discovery that will shake up hip-hop history!
