This 1975 work was created by Copeland Davis, a Florida-based pianist who continues to perform live energetically, with the band he leads. It's no wonder that Davis later gained attention in the Free Soul and Rare Groove movement, as this album is full of exhilarating sounds. The instrumental numbers are also superb, such as the pleasant opening track "NO ARMS CAN EVER HOLD YOU" (M1) with Davis's beautiful piano melody, "PERFIDIA" (M2) with its light touch of piano and surging percussive beat, and the exhilarating, high-speed groovy jazz of "SO IN LOVE" (M4). However, the album also includes some superb killer soul tracks that showcase a mellow feeling, such as the medium soul track "JET" (M3) with Davis himself on vocals, and "Morning Spring" (M6), which was sampled in Pase Rock's "It's About Time" produced by Nujabes! Furthermore, a complete reissue has been decided, including a vocal version of "NO ARMS CAN EVER HOLD YOU," which was originally only released as a 7-inch single, added to both the CD and LP (first time on LP!).
