The soft sound, enveloped in a blend of classic American-style folky sounds, hypnotic psychedelic flavors, and beautiful melodies and harmonies, is truly the best soft rock of our time! SYLVIE is the project of Ben Schwab, a Southern California native who has steadily built his career in the US indie scene through his work with Golden Daze, which plays psychedelic folk rock, and his participation as a guitarist, pianist, and backing vocalist on Drugdealer's album 'Raw Honey'. The feeling of their music, which was inspired by a demo tape left behind by Mad Anthony, a band that Ben's father, John Schwab, was a member of about half a century ago (unfortunately, they never made it to a record deal), can be said to be a sound that connects the good old American style of the 60s and 70s with the current US indie scene. Featuring vocals from Marina Allen, a female singer-songwriter whose voice is reminiscent of The Carpenters and Carole King, on "Falls on Me" (M1), "Further Down The Road" (M4), and Sam Burton, a male singer-songwriter who sings on "Stealing Time" (M7), as well as on the folk-rock track "Sylvie" (M2), a cover of Matthews Southern Comfort (the band's namesake), the album showcases a similar sensibility and features singers of the same generation. Furthermore, on "50/50" (M6), the band overlays the voice of his father, John Schwab, and on "Rosaline" (M3), they newly recorded John with a microphone, resulting in a timeless and universal sound! In April 2022, they will be performing with Widowspeak on their tour for their latest album "The Jacket," attracting even more attention. With this release on Full Time Hobby, a UK label that has produced many high-quality indie bands, they are an artist expected to achieve worldwide success.
