Contents Selection and Supervision: Yoriko Kawachi Japan-only release This special Japan-only release compiles the vast body of music from Bernie Worrell, a master who supported the golden age of P-Funk, with selections by Yoriko Kawachi, a leading expert in P-Funk research! Bernie's passion and concentration, which even his illness couldn't touch, grooves throughout this soulful funk sound. Super drummer Stanton Moore (Galactic) also participates! This compilation features 14 tracks selected by Yoriko Kawachi from four albums recorded by Bernie Worrell with his band Khu.eex', the band he spent his final years with, just three months before his death on June 24, 2016. The core members are all residents of Washington State with Native American ancestry, and Bernie himself, who has Cherokee Indian ancestry, wanted to work with them and moved to the state in 2015 despite his illness. It's said that the recording was done with frequent breaks, but once Bernie was focused, even illness couldn't stop him. This album is packed with Bernie's unique playing, which moves from classical music to children's songs and turns them into funk. Bernie invited Stanton Moore, the drummer of Galactic, with whom he had collaborated at the Meters Experience in Rio Nocenteri, to participate in the recording, and Stanton participates on 7 tracks on this album. He also delivers a wonderful drumming performance that perfectly complements Bernie's playing. This is a must-listen and killer album for P-Funk fans.
