Introduction We should be more grateful that a band called Innocence Mission exists on this earth. The miraculous music woven from the magical voice of singer-songwriter Karen Peris and a relentlessly gentle acoustic sound... Another wonderful new album from Innocence Mission. Love. Connection. Community. Understanding. Most people experience these aspects through the prism of family and friends. But not everyone can translate those feelings into song. Especially not with the beauty and sensitivity of Innocence Mission, the Pennsylvania trio led by frontwoman Karen Peris and her husband Don. Following their previous album, Sun on the Square (2018), they have created another wonderfully moving album, See You Tomorrow. Filled with awe and wonder, strong longing, sadness and joy, it is a rich collection of songs that try to depict the essence of what makes us human. The band recorded "See You Tomorrow" in the Perris family's basement (and the dining room where the piano is located). Karen wrote and sang 10 of the album's 11 tracks, and played guitar, piano, foot-pedal organ, accordion, electric bass, melodica, Mellotron, and an old prototype string sampler keyboard. Don played guitar, drums, and provided vocal harmonies, and also took on lead vocals on his own song, "Mary Margaret In Mid-Air." Fellow bandmate and founding member Mike Bitts added upright bass to four tracks, including the album's first single, "On Your Side." Karen's songs highlight the universal from everyday scenes, combined with her delicate and lovely, one-of-a-kind voice and simple yet exquisite backing... A masterpiece that promises moments of pure bliss. Media reviews and more: We should be more grateful that a band like Innocence Mission exists on this earth.
