Product Description
Contents Supervision & Commentary: Toshikazu Kanazawa (Light Mellow) Bonus Track Included World Premiere on CD Paper Sleeve Packaging A masterpiece of 80's crossover soul and mellow groove is being released on CD for the first time in the world! Despite being a rare self-produced record, the entire album is of surprisingly high quality! "This world premiere CD release features treasure trove city soul tracks unearthed from a mixed bag of privately pressed works, plus valuable 7-inch single tracks. The excellent sense of mixing blue-eyed soul AOR, urban modern funk, and melancholic Latin dancers, along with the skills honed on the New York club circuit, is remarkable. Some members are also active in swamp and CCM scenes, so it would be a shame to limit it to club use only!" -- Toshikazu Kanazawa Bass/Vocals: Rick Cua, Drums: Tommy Rozzano, Keyboards: Larry Arlotta, Lead Vocals/Percussion: Ricky CRAC (named after the initials of the four members) is a local soul/funk band from Syracuse, New York, formed in 1974 by Chisholm. Starting out as a cover band, they underwent some member changes and released their only album independently in 1980. With members who would later join Sea Level, and others who supported Maynard Ferguson and Melba Moore, the band members possess ample skill, and their crossover-style mellow grooves and city funk, including the technical instrumental tracks, are of high quality throughout. Among them, the twilight-tinged mellow dancer "You're Everything to Me" is a masterpiece that will make both free soul and AOR fans swoon! Two previously unreleased tracks, which were exclusively released as a 7-inch single in the UK, will be included as bonus tracks on the Japanese edition! Media reviews and more: A masterpiece of 80's crossover soul and mellow groove is being released on CD for the first time in the world! Despite being a rare self-produced album, it's an astonishingly high-quality album from start to finish! (C)RS
