With his signature organ and tenor saxophone, plus percussion, it comes on with energetic intensity. It's described as sweet, but there's not a trace of sweetness. With a groove that's almost out of control, it overflows with the raw, uninhibited funk heat typical of the 70s. It feels like a final resistance on the front lines, chased by the times, but perhaps there's a glimmer of light in that defiant attitude that shines through in Black music. It also made me think that it has a similar overflowing energy to Tsugaru shamisen.
