The floating sound, woven from the essence of jazz, the texture of the Chicago post-rock scene, and live instruments and electronics, cannot be simply categorized as "post-rock" or "electronica"?it's an eternal saudade befitting the dawn of the 2000s! This is a Japan-exclusive edition that includes all tracks from his EPs from the same period as bonus tracks! Scott Helen, who used various aliases such as Savvas & Savalas and Prefuse 73, had a tremendous influence on the IDM/electronica scene of the 2000s. Often discussed under the name Prefuse 73, who achieved a new approach to hip-hop with "Vocal Studies and Uprock Narratives" (2001/Warp Records) using the vocal chop technique, this album, released the previous year in 2000 by US/Chicago's Hefty Records, features a sound production that exquisitely blends the essence of jazz, which is Scott's own root, with live instrumentation and electronics. It was highly acclaimed as an epoch-making album in the then-ambiguous "electronica" scene. At the time, the seventh track, "Journey's Holmes," was used in a TV commercial for a major cram school in Japan, making it a very popular work not only musically but also as listening music. Furthermore, this reissue includes all of the tracks from the "The Rolls & Waves EP," produced around the same time, as bonus material!
