Introduction: Following his jazz-focused album "milk" (2017), coppe's new album "na na me na opera" is finally complete! With modular synthesizer specialist HATAKEN as producer, coppe takes on opera in this album, featuring contributions from modular synth users Daedelus and Kenichi Takagi. The opening track "ave maria" and the subsequent collaboration with Daedelus, "i open my mouth and the universe rushes out," feature lyrics specially written by Chris Mosdell, a longtime friend and confidant of coppe. Listening to the cover of Klaus Nomi's "cold song," dedicated to his late, beloved mother, strongly conveys the special feelings behind this album. From the fourth track, "blue rhapsody," onwards, the colorful sounds and organic grooves of the modular synth, along with coppe's vocals, which are inspired by and modulated, take center stage. After a deep and intense period, it's as if light is gradually shining through. The album includes a cover of Alessandro Scarlatti's "son tutta duolo," "did i hear your voice?c?" produced by Kenichi Takagi, and a bonus track exclusive to the CD: a mix by Greg Hunter, who has worked on projects for The Orb and Killing Joke. Greg Hunter also handled the mastering of all tracks on this album. The domestic CD release includes liner notes by Masaaki Hara.
