Product Description
Content Introduction Justin K. Broadrick, whose career as a musician is already in its 45th year. As a guitarist, he created the earliest musical style of NAPALM DEATH, but left the band abruptly after six months, saying he "got bored." In 1988, he founded GODFLESH, drawing inspiration from THROBBING GRISTLE and KILLING JOKE, and building a sound style that combines hip-hop-influenced thick machine beats and heavy riffs, dissonant and noise/ambient guitar work, and thick, undulating bass in a harsh manner. Along with MINISTRY and NINE INCH NAILS, he created a blueprint for industrial metal and influenced subsequent generations. Justin had said he was satisfied with all the albums since his return from GODFLESH's hiatus, but the root of his creativity, 'anger,' never disappeared, and he continued to work on new material intermittently. Then, in the fall of 2025, he experienced a serious illness and major surgery, and everything came to a halt. Fortunately, his recovery from surgery is going extremely well, but he decided to disband GODFLESH because, as he said, "Studio work is no problem. I can play guitar and do live shows, but I can't scream anymore." All parts, including vocals, were recorded for this album before his serious illness, and the mixing was done after he was discharged from the hospital. While his previous album, 'Purge' (2023), was reminiscent of his masterpiece 'Pure' (1992), 'Decay' directly conveys Justin's roots and a strong loyalty to his original 'industrial' sound. 'Decay' is the first chapter of his final album, and GODFLESH will be permanently completed with the next album scheduled for release next year. Tracklist: 1. Master And Slave 2. Living / Ending 3.
