Since the new lineup was finalized two years ago, songwriting and production have been progressing in secret, with new member Aaron Turner greatly inspiring the other four. Rather than the folk and ambient elements they began to incorporate in the 2000s, the focus is on heavy riffs reminiscent of "Enemy Of The Sun," "Through Silver In Blood," and "Times Of Grace." Through songwriting that pushes the very structure to its limits, they have transcended the simple description of Neurosis + ISIS, creating a work that only Neurosis could produce.
