Product Description
Content Introduction CONVERGE continues to reign supreme at the pinnacle of hardcore/extreme music/aggressive sound. Led by its founder and unparalleled charismatic singer/art director Jacob Bannon, this supergroup, formed by an elite group of musicians also based in New England, has released a new album. UMBRA VITAE was founded by Jacob during the production of an album for WEAR YOUR WOUNDS, a melancholic/alternative/art rock band that he works with alongside CONVERGE, with the desire to "straightforwardly express our love for death metal, one of our roots." Starting with a swapped rhythm section with WYW, this is also a supergroup-like position in the US hardcore scene. As Jacob and the members themselves have stated, it has a lot of death metal elements, but their previous work had a style reminiscent of NAPALM DEATH from the 90s onwards. In this work, their admiration for Bay Area thrash metal is also highlighted, and the sharp riff work stands out. Jacob's presence, roaring with a metallic sound, is overwhelming, and it has a different kind of intensity than the recent CONVERGE, which has leaned more towards punk rock/alternative. Released in Japan first (intl: 6/7), the Japanese edition includes two completely unreleased tracks as bonus tracks. Tracklist: 01. Leave Of Absence 02. Belief Is Obsolete 03. Clear Cutter 04.
