Moons is a rock band formed in Minas Gerais, Brazil in 2016, centered around leader Andr? Travassos. They have released three albums to date. Their music resonates with the legendary Minas Gerais music movement "Street Corner Club," as well as UK folk rock such as Nick Drake, and even the lineage of US rock such as John Lennon, Lou Reed, and Yo La Tengo, attracting a wide range of listeners beyond just Brazilian music fans. This album, "Best Kept Secret," is Moons' first new album in three years. The Moons had to suspend their band activities due to the pandemic-induced isolation, but in 2021, after all members had received their vaccinations, they rented a house on the outskirts of Belo Horizonte and reunited for the first time in a long time, and that's when magic happened. Although they didn't have any ideas for a new album, a session started naturally, and by bringing together songs that each of them had written at home, the foundation of the album quickly took shape. The album was produced by Leonardo Marques, and the recording took place at Leonardo's studio, "Ilha do Corvo." The Moons sound, with its delicate melodies and refined ensemble, is gentle yet passionate, just like their previous works. However, this time they welcomed arranger Lucca Noacco and introduced instruments such as violin, flute, and clarinet. Andr? Travassos' nylon-string guitar playing is another point of difference from their previous works, and the vibes of Brazilian music such as bossa nova are more apparent.
