Content Introduction A veteran band known since the NWOBHM era, this new album, their first in four years, showcases their sharp playing, regaining the edge of their former glory! Formed in 1979 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. They rose to prominence in the midst of the NWOBHM movement with their exhilarating twin-lead guitar work and melodic songs. Their 1983 debut album, "Court In The Act," is highly acclaimed as an enduring masterpiece and had a significant influence on later speed metal/thrash metal. Following member changes, they released several albums under different names such as BLIND FURY and PARIAH before disbanding in 1989. After restarting under different names and participating in festivals in the early 2000s, they officially reformed as SATAN in 2011. This album is their latest work, their first in four years since "Cruel Magic." Once again, it was produced in the band's hometown studio in Newcastle upon Tyne. Although work began in October 2020, all operations came to a halt due to the nationwide lockdown in the UK as a measure against the infectious disease. They attempted to resume work in the spring of 2021, but the recording engineer was hospitalized in critical condition, followed by injuries to the band members, and then the studio system crashed just as the two returned. They overcame numerous difficulties to complete the album. Although some time has passed since their reunion and restart, the performance and songs are still passionate, suggesting that the band lineup from the production of their first album was the best. They have used the current global situation as a springboard, raising everything to the next level with growth and skill, and are making a complete comeback. Tracklist 01. Ascendancy 02.
