The final album of the first King Crimson lineup, released in 1971 and featuring brass instruments, is now available in a deluxe edition packed with new 2026 mixes including Dolby Atmos, the much-talked-about Elemental Mix, complete recording sessions, and other tracks! Released in 2017 as part of the 40th anniversary series, "Sailor's Tales Box" was the second best-selling 40th box set after "Road to Red." Nine years later, another Islands story, focusing on the making of the album "Islands," is now available on CD + Blu-ray. Following the theory of the so-called 50 Series, this release also features a new 2026 mix by Steven Wilson, David Singleton's imaginative Elemental Mix, and the complete recording sessions from the summer of 1971 at Island Studios and Command Studios, all on Blu-ray! To capture the essence of this work, which is captivating for its dynamic interplay of movement and stillness, the CD portion once again utilizes the SHM-CD format. The Blu-ray (audio recording), produced worldwide in a single batch, features the 2026 mix, a staple of the 50 series, complete with Dolby Atmos mix, DTS HD-MA 5.1 surround, 24/96 stereo, and Hi-Res audio, along with elemental mixes and recording session recordings in 24/96 stereo. In addition, the 4-channel version of "Live at Summit Studios," which was a hot topic in the "Sailor's Tales Box," is re-recorded. Numerous other additional tracks are also included. This year, we deliver an overwhelming volume once again! The Japanese version uses domestically pressed SHM-CDs for the CD portion, while the Blu-ray uses the European pressing, which is produced worldwide in a single batch. The artwork is also unique to Japan as before, and this time, while based on the UK version's paper jacket, it is the first gatefold type + extra paper jacket (design TBD).
