Recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles, this album features many of the musicians who played on "Look Up." The core band, consisting of Paul Franklin, David Mansfield, Dennis Crouch, Daniel Tassian, Lory Hoffman, Patrick Warren, and Colin Linden (T-Bone affectionately calls them "The Texans," after the Liverpool band Ringo was in in 1959), has also reunited. Of the 10 songs on "Long Long Road," 6 were written by T-Bone Burnett alone or co-written. The album includes two other tracks co-written by Ringo and Bruce Sugar, one co-written by Ringo, Mark Hudson, and Gary Burr, and a cover of a song written by Benny Benjamin and George David Weiss and recorded by Carl Perkins.
