All titles are being released on SHM-CD for the first time, and 8 of the 10 works are being reissued on CD for the first time in approximately 20 years since 1997. The collection couples performances with an orchestra arranged and conducted by Benny Golson with performances by a quartet. Golson's ambitious orchestration, which includes French horns and woodwinds, blends exquisitely with Kirk's musicality.
