Around the time of the release of "Giles, Giles & Fripp" on the Deram label, the three moved to London and were diligently rehearsing and home recording in a flat in the Blondesbury district, creating the original King Crimson. Ian McDonald, who would become a member, and Judy Dyble, who would later join Trader Horn, joined them. The creation of songs as a five-member group began. This work compiles the home recordings left behind during that Blondesbury era. It is a collection of recordings that capture the moment when Giles, Giles & Fripp were about to transform into King Crimson. Recorded between the albums "Giles, Giles & Fripp" and "In the Court of the Crimson King," this is an important work that contains fragments of the King Crimson sound throughout, including an early version of "Talking to the Wind" sung by Dyble, the original version of "The Letters" called "Drop In," and the original melody of "Peace" which was included on "Poseidon's Awakening." Robert Fripp was not happy with the original artwork, which was created without the artist's permission, so the Fripp-approved reissue has new artwork. The domestic version is in SHM-CD format. It is released in an E-style single paper jacket.
