"Trilogy" is a special trio formed with Christian McBride (bass) and Brian Blade (drums), two of the greatest players of our time. The first installment, "Trilogy," was released in 2013, and the second installment, "Trilogy II," in 2018, both of which won Grammy Awards in the United States. This third and final installment, following Chick's passing in February 2021, features the best takes selected from their 2019 US and Japan tours, and their final European tour in 2020. This album features Chick Corea's original compositions as well as a wide repertoire of jazz standards and classical numbers, showcasing sublime interplay. The album concludes with "Tempus Fugit," a performance from the Shizuoka Mishima City Cultural Hall during their Japan tour in April 2019, and includes Chick's Japanese "Thank you" MC after the performance.
