Their blend of Indian folk instruments and hard, modern metal sounds has captivated audiences worldwide. Formed in New Delhi, India in 2016, Bloodywood has garnered global attention for their fusion of Indian folk music, rap, and metal, with lyrics that sharply address social issues such as politics and mental health. The band members include Karan Kathiar, a guitarist/multi-instrumentalist with the unusual background of being a former lawyer; Jayant Badura, who handles vocals and death growls; Raul Kah, who handles rap vocals; Vishesh Singh, who plays drums; Roshan Roy, who plays bass; and Sartak Pawa, who plays the dhole, a double-headed drum from the Indian and Pakistani region. In 2022, they released their debut album "Rakshak," which earned them a nomination for Best International Breakthrough Artist at the 2022 Heavy Music Awards. They made a sensational debut in Japan at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '22, and in 2023 they held a tour of Tokyo and Osaka.
