By utilizing the 96kHz/24bit digital source he created for the analog reissues, the ultimate analog sound has been achieved, faithfully reproducing the sound of the original master tapes as much as possible. This is the fourth Blue Note release by Bud Powell, the father of modern jazz piano. It's a trio work featuring Sam Jones and Philly Joe Jones. The once-in-a-lifetime collaboration with Philly Joe is particularly striking. In the charming rumba-style "Buster Rise Again," the drums heat up midway through. The interplay with the piano, which clearly plays the theme, is delightful.
