It features the latest remastering by Kevin Gray, an engineer who has demonstrated his mastery in US Blue Note analog reissue series such as "Tone Poet" and "Classic Vinyl." By utilizing the digital source he created for the analog reissue, the ultimate analog sound has been achieved, faithfully reproducing the sound of the original master tapes as much as possible. This is a valuable leader album left for Blue Note in the later years of Texas tenor saxophonist Booker Ervin. It was not released at the time of recording, and first appeared in 1976 as one disc of the 2LP "Back From the Gig." The current title is from the 2005 CD release. The brilliant performances of the promising young Woody Shaw and the future renowned supporting player Kenny Barron shine through.
