It features the latest remastering by Kevin Gray, an engineer who has demonstrated his mastery in US Blue Note analog reissue series such as "Tone Poet" and "Classic Vinyl." By utilizing the digital source he created for the analog reissue, the ultimate analog sound has been achieved, faithfully reproducing the sound of the original master tapes as much as possible. This is the first release from the Jackie McLean Group, featuring the up-and-coming trumpeter Charles Tolliver. From the opening track, "Cancellation," energetic playing continues. Also noteworthy is Herbie Hancock's rhythmic backing, which enhances both of them.
