This is the latest reissue series, a Japan-exclusive project, commemorating the 85th anniversary of Blue Note, the greatest jazz label of all time. It features the latest remastering by Kevin Gray, an engineer who has demonstrated his mastery in US Blue Note analog reissue series such as "Tone Poet" and "Classic Vinyl." By utilizing the digital source he created for the analog reissue, the sound of the original master tapes has been reproduced as faithfully as possible, achieving the ultimate analog sound. It consists of three sessions that a young Miles Davis recorded for Blue Note: two tracks from 1952, three from 1953, and six from 1954. In particular, the third session, considered the best, features a beautiful and thrilling performance backed by the trio of Horace Silver, Percy Heath, and Art Blakey. "It Never Entered My Mind" is particularly wonderful. It's hard to say whether it's better or worse than the famous later re-recording (Prestige's "Workin'").
