Contents: [Limited Edition] [Japan Exclusive] [UHQCD Specification] [First UHQCD Release] Blue Note @ 85 (Remastered by Kevin Gray) Second Series, First Release This is the latest reissue series, a Japan-exclusive project commemorating the 85th anniversary of Blue Note, the greatest jazz label in history. It features the latest remastering by Kevin Gray, an engineer who has demonstrated his mastery in US Blue Note analog reissue series such as "Tone Poet" and "Classic Vinyl." By utilizing the digital source he created for the analog reissue, the ultimate analog sound has been achieved, faithfully reproducing the sound of the original master tapes as much as possible. This is the final of three masterpieces left for Blue Note by the free jazz genius Don Cherry, who left the Ornette Coleman Group. It features a quartet formation including Pharoah Sanders, formerly of the John Coltrane Band. The contrast between the lustrous trumpet and the freaky saxophone is superb.
