Last year, young conductor Klaus M?khela released a Stravinsky album with the prestigious Orchestre de Paris, where he serves as music director. Following on from his previous work, this second recording with the Orchestre de Paris also focuses on the Ballets Russes. This album commemorates Klaus M?khela's Carnegie Hall debut in March 2024. It features selections of Stravinsky's "Petrushka," composed during his time in America, Debussy's last ballet music and last orchestral work "Jeux," and the historically significant masterpiece "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun." Born in Finland in 1996, Klaus M?kel? studied cello and conducting at the Sibelius Academy from the age of 12 and became principal guest conductor of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra at a young age. Since then, he has collaborated with world-class orchestras such as the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic, and Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, receiving high praise at each and achieving great success, being described as "the emergence of a once-in-a-generation genius conductor." In 2020, at the young age of 24, he became principal conductor of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra in Norway, and from the following 2021 season, he also became music director of the prestigious Orchestre de Paris. It has been decided that from 2027, he will become principal conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra on a 10-year contract.
