Jacob Collier, the genius singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has won five Grammy Awards to date and was nominated for Album of the Year in 2021 for "Jessie Vol. 3," and whose recently released new song "Never Gonna Be Alone" is a hit, is showing his immense popularity in Japan, with his November performances, his first in three years, already sold out. His first live album, "Piano Ballads: Live from Jesse World Tour 2022," which was recently released digitally, will be released on CD exclusively in Japan on November 18th, just before his visit to Japan. Jacob completed a world tour in North America and Europe this year. At each performance, Jacob selected a cover song that he would be playing in front of an audience for the first time, performing it with piano accompaniment. Much of the performance was improvised, and there were often moving highlights in the concerts where the entire audience formed a choir to create the music together with Jacob. The recordings include well-known classics such as Queen's "Somebody to Love," ABBA's "Dancing Queen," The Beatles' "Let It Be," and James Taylor's "I Left My Heart on Carolina." Videos of these performances will be released periodically, and currently, a video of "Somebody to Love" filmed at the Lisbon performance is available. Regarding this release, Jacob said, "Since I can remember, I've felt great comfort and joy sitting at the piano and improvising. And I've long dreamed of releasing an album that focuses on that format. This year, I took on the challenge of improvising a different song every night on tour, with the help of the wonderful music fans at the venues, of course.
