Product Description
Content Introduction: This is the first album released after signing with Virgin Records in the US. Released in 1989, it was his first work after moving to New York. The album features a variety of guest appearances, including Brian Wilson (Beach Boys), Robbie Robertson (formerly of The Band), Robert Wyatt (formerly of Soft Machine), Youssou N'Dour, Arto Lindsay, and others. Approximately half of the tracks are cover songs, including covers of Okinawan folk songs and The Rolling Stones, and the arrangements are excellent, reminiscent of folk music. The tracklist differs for each country's release, and this time, the Japanese version has been adopted at the artist's request. The Japanese version includes "Adagio," an arrangement of a Samuel Barber piece (the original was used in the movie "Platoon"). A long-awaited reissue for fans, remastered and in its first ever paper sleeve edition.
