Queen's 50th Anniversary Original Album [Limited Edition] [2SHM-CD] "Queen" (Original release year: 1973) This debut album followed the British hard rock style that was trending at the time, while already expressing the unique individuality that made them unmistakably Queen. Production was handled by John Anthony and the band themselves, as well as Roy Thomas Baker, who would later become a key figure in the Queen sound. The declaration that "no one plays synthesizers" is clearly stated from this album. The band began demo recording once the members were finalized, and then began full-scale recording around the summer of 1972, completing the album in January 1973. Because the release was about six months later, a comment meaning "this is the culmination of Queen's music over the past three years" was credited. The bonus EP includes five rare demo tracks recorded at De Lane Lee Studios in December 1971, and the outtake "Mad the Swine," unearthed in 1991.
