Product Description
Contents: [Blue-specCD2 Specification] The fifth installment in the Seiji Ozawa Mito Chamber Orchestra's Beethoven Symphony Series. At the Mito Chamber Orchestra's 100th Anniversary Regular Concert held on October 13th and 15th, 2017, the first two movements were conducted by a different conductor, while the last two movements were conducted by Seiji Ozawa. The first two movements were recorded separately from the concert in a session conducted by Seiji Ozawa. For Seiji Ozawa, this is his first recording of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in 15 years, since his highly successful recording with the Saito Kinen Orchestra in 2002. This is a moving performance in which the tight playing of the Mito Chamber Orchestra, a small but elite group of world-class musicians, the overwhelming chorus of the Tokyo Opera Singers, and the wonderful singing of the soloists are brilliantly fused under Seiji Ozawa's direction.
