This new album captures the joyful energy of three sold-out concerts held at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles in 1964 and 1965, when The Beatles were at their most brilliant as a live band! The 13-track analog record released in 1977 (Japanese title: "The Beatles Super Live!") is already out of print, but this is not just a reissue of that album, but a completely new album made using the original 3-track tapes of the concert as the direct source. To recreate the band's performance with the best possible clarity and sound quality while retaining the energy and excitement of the concert venue, Grammy Award-winning producer Giles Martin and fellow Grammy Award-winning engineer Sam Okell have added four previously unreleased recordings from this historic concert to the 13 tracks from the original album produced by Giles' father, Sir George Martin, and meticulously remixed and remastered them at Abbey Road Studios. This release coincides with the highly anticipated, officially authorized feature-length documentary film "The Beatles: Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years," directed by Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard, which traces their early career. The film will have its world premiere in London on September 15th, followed by a worldwide theatrical release, and will premiere in Japan on September 22nd. It includes a 24-page booklet with an essay by renowned journalist David Fricke. The packaging is a digipak (same as the current original album). The Japanese edition is in SHM-CD format only.
