[About the Label] East Wind is a groundbreaking jazz label that started in 1975 through the complete cooperation of Ai Music (at the time) and Nippon Phonogram (at the time). For about five years, they produced albums not only of Japanese musicians such as Masahiko Kikuchi, Sadao Watanabe, and Terumasa Hino, but also of musicians who were creatively active in the world jazz scene at the time. Beyond the quality of the performance, the artwork, created by top designers and photographers, was a fresh take on the image of jazz albums up to that point, and had a significant impact on subsequent record production. Thirteen years after the masterpiece "Circle Waltz" (Riverside), Bill Evans-style pianist Don Friedman presents an unusual work in which he uses both acoustic and electric piano to perform mainly original numbers with a rock beat. The mysterious and exciting trinity sound is the highlight.
