To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Contemporary Records, a leading West Coast label, in 2026, 28 representative SHM-CDs originally released for the label's 60th anniversary are being re-pressed for a limited time. This album features Sonny Rollins in Los Angeles during the heyday of West Coast jazz, collaborating with popular musicians representing the Contemporary label. While retaining his usual powerful tenor saxophone playing, he has also gained a refined swing feel, resulting in a more relaxed performance.
