Content Introduction Matain Westerholt, the keyboardist who has colored the symphonic sound of the world-renowned Dutch metal band Within Temptation with his keyboard tones, formed the symphonic metal band Dillane after leaving WT in 2001, and has made it his life's work. Now, the long-awaited 7th album has finally been released! For this album, all members except Matain have been replaced. The vocalist is Diana Lear, a female singer from Romania. Original guitarist Ronald Landa and drummer Sander Zohr, who was in the band from 2006 to 2014, have also returned. Furthermore, Italian bassist Ludovico Ciofi has joined. A new lineup, blending old and new elements, has been completed. Singles and tracks like "The Cold" skillfully blend orchestral melodies, epic heavy riffs, and superb vocal performances. The album opens with the upbeat "Hideaway Paradise," where melodic metal guitar sounds create a dreamy atmosphere. The ballad-like dark track "Mirror of Night," featuring current Within Temptation guitarist Ruud Jolly, captivates listeners with its endlessly catchy lines and melodies. "Queen of Shadow" fuses Delain's signature orchestral and synth-centered soundscape, weaving together melodic heavy guitar, orchestral lines, and vocal melodies. "Tainted Hearts" is centered around Matain's keyboard arrangements, skillfully expressing his creative roots. Finally, there's "Invictus," a rock opera featuring vocal parts by Diana Lear, former Nightwish member Marco Hietala, and Paolo Ribaldini (who has also guested on works by Rhapsody of Fire and Beast in Black), which concludes with a magnificent climax where everything comes together.
