[Carole Bayer Sager] Born March 8, 1947, in New York City, USA, she is a lyricist and composer. In 1966, while still in high school, she gained attention with the massive hit "Groovy Kind of Love" by the Mindbenders, which she wrote and co-wrote. She continued to work as a lyricist and co-writer for artists such as The Monkees and Melissa Manchester. At the suggestion of Melissa Manchester's album producer, Brooks Arthur, she produced her debut album, "Myself (original title: CAROLE BAYER SAGER)," which was released in 1977. The following year, 1978, he released his second album, "TOO...". Around this time, he also worked on numerous theme songs and insert songs for movies, providing lyrics for many famous songs, including "Nobody Does It Better" (composed by Marvin Hamlisch), the theme for "The Spy Who Loved Me" (1977), "Best That You Can Do" (Japanese title: "New York City Serenade"), the theme for "Arthur" (1981), which won an Academy Award for Best Original Song (co-written with Burt Bacharach and others), and "That's What Friends Are For" (composed by Burt Bacharach, later covered by Dionne & Friends (Elton John, Gladys Knight & Stevie Wonder) and became a huge hit), the theme for "Love in New York" (1982).
