Contents A series of classic albums you listened to obsessively back in the day are now available! Warner Music's proud series of classic Western music albums, "Forever Young," is relaunched with a new look! The seventh release features AOR classics by Donald Fagen, Steely Dan, Christopher Cross, Rickie Lee Jones, Michael McDonald, Michael Franks, and more! [Michael Franks] Born in San Diego, California, USA in 1944. He made his major debut in 1975 with "The Art of Tea." Backed by members of The Crusaders, his sophisticated vocal style attracted attention. He has close ties with fusion/jazz artists such as David Sanborn and Joe Sample, and while absorbing elements of jazz and bossa nova into his works, he delivers urban and stylish pop-sensibility songs and performances. Michael Franks' second album, "Sleeping Gypsy," released in 1977, became a global hit, and he enjoys enduring popularity in Japan as a "pioneer of AOR." He continued to release music consistently thereafter, with "Abadand Garden," released in 1995, being his last album with Warner. After releasing a greatest hits album in 1998, he moved to Windham Hill, a pioneering label for new age music. He returned to the sound of the 80s and early 90s, and while it is pop, his beautiful singing voice from the "Art of Tea" era is still very much alive. Michael Franks "Sleeping Gypsy" A yearning for a distant foreign land and thoughts of that special someone. This second album further refines the fresh city music sound that was so highly acclaimed in "Art of Tea," the major debut album of "Mr. AOR" Michael Franks. (1977 release) Includes commentary, lyrics, and translations. 2012 remastered audio.
