Product Introduction: Pre-release in Japan! War, a representative of the 1970s West Coast American funk scene, continues to revolutionize the world with their sound and message. This legendary street band of the SoCal scene made their name in Japan, and now, rare, previously unreleased live recordings from their 1974 debut in Japan are being released as a miraculous double live album! Their first visit to Japan was in December 1974. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of this debut, a Japan tour has already been scheduled for February 2025. To further celebrate this momentous occasion, a miraculous live album capturing their 1974 debut performance, titled "Live in Japan 1974," will be released! At the time, they recorded and stored live recordings for their own archive, and now, from that vast archive of bands, recordings of their 1974 Shizuoka performance and other performances during their visit to Japan have been unearthed. The tremendous energy of that sound will finally be released as an official live album, 50 years later. The Japanese edition will include a translation of the English liner notes, commentary, lyrics and translations, as well as exclusive Japanese content: a special interview with Ronnie Jordan, who is still an active member, and Jerry Goldstein, who has been deeply involved as the band's producer/songwriter since the beginning, as they look back on the 1974 performances in Japan. Furthermore, a special WAR logo sticker will be included as an exclusive Japanese bonus. WAR... Formed in 1969 in Long Beach, California, centered around Eric Burdon, formerly of The Animals. With members of diverse ethnicities, they quickly gained attention for their crossover musical style that blends various genres such as soul, jazz, Latin, funk, R&B, and rock. They broke down racial barriers through music and gained a wide range of fans. After several member changes, they continue to be active with keyboard player Ronnie Jordan, who has been supporting the group since its very beginning, and they continue to revolutionize the world with their sound and message.
