Content Introduction Blues! Soul! Funk! The latest album from Crystal Thomas, the next-generation blues queen who is attracting worldwide attention! A funky beat that energizes the blues! An exciting masterpiece of "blues & soul" has arrived! Chuck Rainey: "This is real funky blues that can only be achieved in Texas." Lucky Peterson: "This funky and bluesy feeling, Crystal is truly wonderful." Crystal Thomas, who is active in the black music scene throughout Louisiana and Texas, is undoubtedly the female singer with the power and potential to sing the blues at its best today. Her new album, which fully showcases her talent and charm, is now complete. Moreover, it features a session where Lucky Peterson, one of the most important bluesmen currently active, provides a solid bottom end on B3 Hammond organ and piano, and Chuck Rainey, the pinnacle of soul/funk bass, provides bass accompaniment for the first time in a long time (using his first beloved instrument, a 1961 Fender Precision Bass). The band features Jason Moorer (drums) and Johnny Moorer (guitar) on guitar and drums, a beat-driven brother duo who were also members of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, a band overflowing with Texas spirit. Furthermore, Crystal has experience as a trombonist in the band of the late soul legend Johnny Taylor, and she proudly showcases her skills on groovy funk instrumentals "THE BLUES FUNK" and "These Kind Of Blues"! The album is expected to include 13-15 tracks, including funky numbers such as Albert King's "Can't You See What You're Doing To Me," Barbara West's "I'm a Fool for You Baby," and Junior Parker's "These Kind Of Blues," as well as Janis Joblin's "ONE GOOD MAN" which she sings as a modern blues piece, Muddy Waters' "Got My Mojo Working" in talkin' blues with Lucky Peterson's guitar backing, and a cover of Ray Charles' classic "Let's Go Get Stoned" which she duetted with Lucky Peterson. Furthermore, last year, she participated as one of the singers on "BLOODEST SAXOPHONE feat. TEXAS BLUES LADIES / I JUST WANT TOMAKE LOVE TO YOU," a Texas-recorded album by Bloodest Saxophone (aka Brasaki), one of Japan's leading jump bands. Her covers of songs such as Tatsuro Yamashita's "YOUR EYES" and Janis Joplin's "ONE GOOD MAN" garnered attention, and the international version was released in February of this year, receiving rave reviews and being featured on American and European radio stations and in specialist magazines. And what's more!!! They're coming to Japan in July! Teaming up with Bloodest Saxophone again, BLOODEST SAXOPHONE feat.
