[First-press limited edition tall case size digipak packaging] [Detailed Japanese commentary booklet/postcard included] An expanded edition of The Rolling Stones' 1966 masterpiece album "Aftermath" is here. In addition to the latest audio of all the album tracks, faithfully remastered from vintage masters of the UK original MONO, it also includes related tracks, sessions, and outtakes. In the fall of 1965, during their fourth US tour, they recorded about 10 original songs at RCA Studios. They immediately announced it as the album "Could You Walk On The Water?", but the title caused controversy and it was never released. So, in March of the following year, they newly recorded "Under My Thumb," "Lady Jane," "Paint It Black," and "Out of Time," completing the album "Aftermath." Following the consecutive hits of "Satisfaction" and "I've Been in a Lot of My Life," the Rolling Stones became the second-largest British band after the Beatles, and this album was their first to consist entirely of original songs. Founding leader Brian May played a variety of instruments including sitar and marimba, adding color to Jagger and Richards' compositions. This album laid the foundation for the blossoming mid-period Stones sound. The original UK version, in particular, with all 14 tracks, was an unprecedentedly long album at 53 minutes. However, released two months earlier than the US version, the UK version, which should be the original, was unfortunately discontinued when the ABKCO remaster became a worldwide standard in 1997. For true fans, the UK version, which aligns with the band's intentions, is the true and authentic choice. Detailed Japanese liner notes detailing the circumstances, anecdotes, and track listings are included. The first edition includes a postcard reproducing the original novelty item.
