The Stones' release order in the UK and US is chaotic, making it difficult to determine the exact release order. This series adheres to chronological order, following their journey in the order they were recorded, including outtakes and unreleased tracks, allowing for a deeper understanding of their history. This ninth volume covers the latter half of the sessions for the album "Between the Buttons" in November 1966, up to the summer of 1967, when they were hit by a drug rage, parted ways with manager Andrew Oldham, and began working on "Their Satanic Majesties." Breaking away from their blues band image, the Stones were churning out hit after hit, including the double A-side single "Let's Get It Together c/w Ruby Tuesday." Brian Jones's talent as a multi-instrumentalist blossomed, and their next album, "Between the Buttons," established the mid-period Stones sound. The Stones were reaching their musical peak, but then Mick, Keith, and Brian were successively arrested for drug possession. Media coverage intensified, questioning whether the London band were actually criminals, and a storm of criticism raged. They fled to Morocco, but Mick and Keith returned to London and, undeterred, immersed themselves in music production, demonstrating their toughness. Mick participated in the chorus of a legendary Nikki Scott EP, and Jimmy Page and Keith played guitar on a Chris Farlowe album produced by Mick. Brian played saxophone on "You Know My Name," a Beatles recording. Furthermore, Jimmy Page, Nicky Hopkins, and others participated in the soundtrack to a film starring Anita Pallenberg, which Brian produced. These rare recordings are also included. The unreleased track "Get Yourself Together," a gritty rock and roll song that sounds almost like a Sticky Fingers song, is also a must-listen. And session musician Nicky Hopkins' piano beautifully completes "She's a Rainbow."
