2025 Japan Tour Commemorative Edition: A collection of early masterpieces by the guitar god, Eric Clapton! Includes unreleased Cream recordings and rare recordings from the Bluesbreakers era. Sharp bends, wavering vibrato. A veritable exhibition of rock guitar solos. In April 2025, the guitar god, Eric Clapton, will perform in Japan for the 24th time. Having performed at the sacred Budokan more than 100 times, Clapton continues to fascinate rock and guitar fans, and now a collection of his early masterpieces is here. Focusing on his famous performances with the trio band Cream from 1966-67, it also includes alternate versions and outtakes not found on official albums, as well as performances from the Yardbirds era in 1964 and performances from John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, the band that earned him the nickname "Clapton is God." Eric Clapton, nicknamed "Slowhand" for his seemingly slow, almost magical, finger movements while playing fast blues phrases in London clubs, rose to fame with his performance on the Yardbirds' Marquee Club live album. However, he left the Yardbirds to pursue the blues and joined John Mayall's band, where he further honed his skills. This led to the fateful formation of Cream. During his time with Cream, he used the front pickup of his Les Paul to create a sweet, distorted "woman tone," leaving behind numerous legendary performances. This is a collection of Eric Clapton's greatest performances, featuring rare versions from the 1960s.
