A valuable collection of alternate versions and outtakes of The Beatles' third album, "A Hard Day's Night," released in July 1964. Following a string of hits in the UK the previous year, their popularity exploded in the US in 1964. They immediately began recording this album and simultaneously filming this movie. In the midst of these hectic, hard days, they created this masterpiece with all original songs. "A Hard Day's Night," the album's representative hit, is the final take that begins with John's count, but the instrumental break is still an unfinished version. The second track, "Two People in Love," is a rare stereo version with a corrected harmonica intro. The third track, "If I Fell in Love," is a rare mix where John's vocals in the first verse are in stereo despite being a single track. The fifth track, "And I Love Her," is the version heard on the German vinyl release, where the ending guitar riff is repeated six times. "Tell Me Why" is an alternate mono mix using a vocal take of John's that was cut from the official mono mix. In addition to these alternate versions of album tracks, it also includes alternate versions of the famous German versions of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "She Loves You," recorded around the same time, as well as related tracks that were only released on EPs, such as "Long Tall Sally." Furthermore, it includes five takes as making-of audio for the title track, "A Hard Day's Night." You can hear how the song was completed through countless studio attempts, including the reverb processing of the memorable ??jang intro. The lyrics for Paul's high-pitched parts are different from the released version, which is exciting. This is a valuable collection of recordings that can be used as a guide to understand this masterpiece more deeply.
