A newly discovered live recording! Just two days before the release of "She Loves You," a 1963 UK Bournemouth & Walthamstow concert, a rare setlist and surprising new recordings from the legendary Roy Orbison Tour have appeared! A precious early live recording of the Beatles has made a surprising new appearance! This recording features all 11 songs from the Bournemouth concert on August 21st, 1963, from their UK tour. The sound quality is somewhat distant, but the instrument balance is stable. Considering the era, it's a surprisingly listenable unearthed recording. As Paul is greeting the audience between songs, John interrupts with a strange cry. This elicits cheers from the girls, but the audience is quite well-behaved, listening attentively to the quieter songs. The setlist was fantastic, showcasing the charm of all four Beatles members. It included "From Me to You," the single released in April, as well as "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Twist and Shout" from their debut album "Please Please Me," released in March, plus Paul's early signature song "A Taste of Honey," George's renditions of "Roll Over Beethoven" and "Chains," and Ringo's "Boys." John's "Baby It's You" was also a rare and precious live performance in front of an audience. There was a moment where Paul greeted the audience during the intro accompaniment to the second song, "Thank You Girl." And the highlight was "She Loves You," released just two days prior to the single's release. As Paul said in his MC that he had written it two weeks ago, John interrupted with a strange cry...lol. As soon as the performance began, it was clear from the first listen that it was a masterpiece?spontaneous clapping broke out, creating a great atmosphere as the concert progressed. The venue was larger than the Cavern, the music could be heard clearly, and the audience was well-received. This must have been the period when the Beatles felt the most enjoyment in live performances. Riding on the clapping, they passionately performed "Twist and Shout," and then, as a reprise, played an instrumental version of "From Me to You" to end the show. No recordings of Beatles live performances before October 1963 remain, so we were unable to even know the atmosphere of their live shows. This is truly a valuable discovery. The "Stowe School 1963" live performance released last year on April 4th was a long 22-song performance that defied expectations as it was a solo show at the invitation of the school, but it is likely that their regular UK tours were more like this Bournemouth performance. And even more surprising is the discovery of a recording from the Walthamstow concert on May 24th, from the spring UK tour with Roy Orbison. You can hear two songs by Roy, and five Beatles songs have been unearthed. They even perform "Some Other Guy"! You can also hear "Please Please Me."
