All songs were original compositions by Lennon and McCartney, and it became a huge hit along with the movie. "Beatles for Sale" was also released at the end of the same year. Amidst the global explosion of their idol-like popularity, this was a time when they were already shedding their idol image and showing the beginnings of becoming artists, such as their encounter with Bob Dylan. The third installment of Eternal Grooves' highly acclaimed Beatles session recording collection is taken from recording sessions during this period. First up is the "Can't Buy Me Love" session held at EMI Studios in Paris at the beginning of the year. The backing vocals by John and George, which weren't heard on the official version, are striking. And from the fateful third album sessions, you can hear all nine takes of the album's title track, "A Hard Day's Night," from April 16, 1964. This is the highlight of this CD. Numerous takes are recorded, with John counting to the iconic "Jang" intro, and Paul manually trying to recreate the reverberation of the guitar amp. Even during the brief pauses caused by failures, Paul continues to practice his vocal delivery. Fans will be thrilled to hear such moments. Scenes like those in the recently released documentary "Get Back," 52 years later, are preserved on the master. The following August 14th recording of "I'm a Loser" features all seven takes, with John singing while playing a 12-string acoustic guitar with a harmonica hanging around his neck in a holder. Here too, the take that stops midway is interesting, and it's a fun session to hear John say "Oh, sorry" and Paul sing "Amaa Japanese liner notes. 7,600 characters, 8 pages.
