In the fall of 1966, after ending their tour, the Beatles holed up in EMI Studios at Abbey Road, diligently working on new songs. This CD includes all the takes from the session working tapes that were omitted from the official 'Sgt. Pepper's 50th Anniversary Box Set'. You can listen to various versions of "Strawberry Fields Forever" in high-quality sound. Here, these recordings are presented chronologically, showing the progress of the Beatles' studio work. Let's take a look at some of the contents. Strawberry Fields Forever On the first day, at EMI Studios where the members were reunited for the first time in three months, John played and sang for the other members. Take 0, included here, is close to the take that George Martin recalled as "simple and wonderful." Next, Paul plays the Mellotron, and the "Strawberry Fields Forever" session begins. Take 1, which starts with John singing abruptly, is included in both a version with Paul and George's brilliant harmonies overdubbed and a version without the overdubs. On November 28th, the Mellotron intro was finalized, and John's languid vocals in Take 4, with the key lowered by one whole tone, are particularly appealing. The next day, the slow version was completed. Take 6 is also good, but Take 7 was chosen. However, in December, they began working on psychedelic arrangements using strings and reversed drums. This led to a miraculous goal: combining the acoustic and simple "Take 7" with the avant-garde "Take 24" featuring reversed drums. The album also includes sessions for "When I'm Sixty-Four," "Penny Lane," and "A Day in the Life."
