Doris El Maloumi, an oud player and composer, was born in 1970 in Agadir, a city in the foothills of the Antiatlas Mountains in southern Morocco. He toured Japan in 2019 with 3MA, a group he formed with kora player Balake Sissoko from Mali and valiha player Rajeli from Madagascar. Known as the "Magician of the Oud," he possesses exceptional playing skills. In his first solo album in 10 years, under the theme of "homage to his homeland and a spirit of adventure," he showcases a captivating performance that maximizes the charm of the oud, accompanied by Arabic percussion.
