Contents Introduction The second installment of the 'RE-CLASSIC STUDIES' series, exploring new frontiers in classical music, is Claude Debussy's "RE-DEBUSSY" by Jessica x Hauschka. Following the first installment, "RE-FAUR?," which featured Prefuse73 as a remixer, the second installment of 'RE-CLASSIC STUDIES' is a collection of Debussy's songs performed by the prepared piano virtuoso Hauschka and singer Jessica. These beautifully cherished classical songs have been revived into colorful music through the harmonies of Jessica and Nakagawa, and the beautiful tones spun by Hauschka. "RE-CLASSIC STUDIES" is a project that revives classical songs with various artists. Following the first installment, "RE-FAUR?," the second in the series features Claude Debussy. Claude Debussy is a composer of the 20th century who has had a particularly lasting influence on later music. He used scales not seen in the tradition of Western music up to that point, establishing a richer, more picturesque harmony. The subtle light, beautiful shadows, rippling water, and nuances of the heart that are synonymous with his music are expressed through Jessica's melancholic singing and Hauschka's cool tone. Jessica has a supernatural, special voice, and her interpretations of French songs, as well as those that sound like science fiction films, are remarkable. She doesn't play jazz-like music, but rather interprets the works with a jazz-like approach, which I think makes the works more accessible. I think this is a truly wonderful album, and I believe Jessica's singing and this album will be listened to by many people in the future. -Hauschka (Composer/Pianist)
