Formed in 1979, TRANCE is one of the oldest German metal bands, after Scorpions and Accept! Their masterpiece 2nd album (1983), packed with great songs including the metal disco classic "Heavy Metal Queen," is being released in Japan for the first time with remasters and bonus tracks! TRANCE, a band that debuted as a supernova in German metal following Scorpions and Accept, sold a total of 150,000 copies of their first two albums combined, but gradually lost momentum due to label troubles and the rise of power/thrash metal. Following their shocking 1982 debut album "Break Out," their second album "Power Infusion," a masterpiece in German metal history, is finally being released in Japan for the first time. At the time, TRANCE was at their most youthful and energetic, performing 150 live shows a year in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and other parts of Europe, and opening for bands like ACCEPT and WARLOCK, accelerating their popularity. This album features the explosively talented "Heavy Metal Queen," along with other classic tracks like "Rockstar," "Shock Power," "Sensation," and the ballad "Children of Illusion." Compared to their first album, this masterpiece boasts a doubled sense of mainstream appeal and scale, making it a quintessential German metal work. Now, 45 years after their formation, TRANCE continues to perform with original members Marcus Berger (guitar) and Thomas Klein (bass), but sadly, original member Lothar Antoni passed away in February 2025.
